The largest meteor impact site in the world is located just east of Flagstaff, Arizona. Meteor Crater is nearly one mile across, 2.4 miles in circumference and more than 550 feet deep. A trip to Northern Arizona would not be complete without a visit to this unique landmark.
The Meteor Crater Visitors Center is an air conditioned building right on the rim of the crater. The building includes a window for indoor viewing, a wide screen movie theater, an interactive discovery center, and a unique gift and rock shop. Food is also available at the Blasted Bistro located inside the Visitor Center.
In addition to the visitors center, guided rim tours are included in your admission price. Walk along the rim with a guide to learn all about the formation of this awesome crater.
